OCMR Kids Run Trains (“KRT”) is a special time at shows where the Club carves out specific hours to allow children (usually age 5 to 16) to run member owned trains on our layout using a club throttle. A parent or guardian signs their child up and each child makes at least one lap around the layout, accompanied by a club member to help them manage the train throttle and avoid mistakes. If no one is waiting their turn, we usually let the youngsters make multiple laps on the mainline.

Once complete, each child gets a signed certificate as a Junior Engineer. Parents find many photo Opps while their child enjoys a run.
